Joy of Light and Life
I have spent the better part of a year studying water; its movement; its emotional effect; its representation of life.
Through my studies, I have been introduce to an incredible pencil artist in China name Paul Shanghai. With his help and inspiration, my development of the subject of water on many types of surfaces has grown to become a focal point in much of my work.
In 2003, Paul did a black and white graphite piece entitled "Happy Splash" that inspired this piece done in organic soft pastels. My model is Ellen Goudeau, who, herself, is a huge inspiration in her work advocating for individuals with learning and developmental differences. With her help and cooperation, I was able to further the message of joy.
Thank you Ellen and Paul!!
As this piece makes its many journeys, new of its progression will be posted here.
